FauxFill — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

FauxFill ("the extension") is a browser tool that fills web forms with randomly generated, fake test data for development and QA testing. This policy explains what data the extension does and does not handle.

Data we collect: none

FauxFill does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal or browsing data. It contains no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party services. The extension makes no network requests of any kind.

How it works

All functionality runs locally in your browser using code packaged inside the extension. The fake data it inserts (names, emails, addresses, etc.) is generated on your device and is entirely fictitious. The extension does not read, copy, store, or send the contents of the pages you visit or the data in your forms.

Local settings

FauxFill saves two preferences — your chosen language and the "overwrite existing values" toggle — using Chrome's storage API. These settings stay on your device (and sync to your own Chrome profile if you have Chrome sync enabled). They are never sent to us or anyone else.
